女性は古来より美しさ・若さを求めてきました。クレオパトラは真珠の粉末を飲んでいたようです。エリザベス女王は鉛パウダーや水銀を顔に塗っていたようです。小野小町は、コラ-ゲンを摂るために熊の手を食べていたようです。女性と男性が存在する限り、数千年前より行われていた美容とアンチエイジングは、数千年後の人類もきっと追い求めてやまないものでしょう。
現在我々は、昔よりはるかに安全で確実な美容医療を手に入れることができます。それどころか、メスで切らなくとも高周波や注入でしわをとることができ、光やレーザーでシミの治療が可能となり、再生医療を駆使して自分の細胞や成長因子、血小板を用いて組織・細胞レベルで若返る時代に突入し、それでもなお美容医療は進化し続けています。
